well, at least there was something fun to keep me occupied for 2 days. Went for PRFSC kids' camp... Moving Ahead...
I was the group leader for white team... consisting of 9 great kids: beverly, the artistic kid. jiahui, the outgoing one. rachel(white), the expressive one. rachel(pink), the v thin but cute gal. shirley, the gal with beautiful long hair. khalis, the v on n responsible kid. bryan tan, me n jas's nemesis. theudas, the handful one. elvis, the comical one...
On Friday, we did our team flag, which was white in colour.... yeah u got it...white flag....n to make up for this, we named ourselves N.S.D for Never Say Die... hehe... after that was lifeskills where we brought the kids out to white sands NTUC to buy food for tea break with just $10. With that we managed to get fruits n a bottle of choc syrup... den back at the centre, we produced our piece of art, love boat by the choc sea... haha... there's two papaya boats in the middle of a fruit syrup.....rather cute. later was the station games where i really had a big headache with the kids as its really tough handling mischievous kids who can't keep still for longer than a fraction of a second... but nonetheless i think all of us enjoyed the challenging games la.... den we had dinner and a magic show... by this time, geraldine, eugene, david, manfred were at the centre, so finally got some ppl to crap with... n also thank god jas is same grp's leader as me la... if not ah..... woah.... chaos man. at night the stupid rain made us cancel the night trail so we substituted with fancy dress.... hahah.... the kids were so enthu la! damn cute... my grp's one was ckn little played by khalis, with his chicken currypok hairdo... comical man... wish i could put up the video clip!!! haha...
night time sux la.... no place to sleep properly den the aircon was freezing... so i had a tough nite... den morning when i got up from the rolling chair also can fall off.... so malu lor..... den the rest of sat was mostly spent on planning n rehearsing a short performance for the parents in the evening. Finally my dear white team came up with a decent skit abt christmas n ckn little n well, the entire performance went smoothly. The camp ended with a sumptuous buffet dinner for everyone... n surprisingly there was a lot of leftovers, so we ta paoed home lor.... i also learnt that most of the P6 kids fared well for their PSLE... n their parents were so grateful to auntie norin n triple E volunteers... when i saw the sincere gratitude the parents showed, i felt really great even though i did not personally tuition those kids...
Helping others is neither necessarily easy nor difficult. It all depends on how much you want to help, and how little you expect in return. The joy of helping others is perhaps the greatest return.
